Rothiemurchus Estate Wild Camping |
Rothiemurchus estates have established two wild camping areas in order to encourage responsible wild camping. The first designated area is at Loch an Eilein next to the car park. Grid Ref NH 897 084. It has a basic toilet block which is open during the summer but may close at other times. Campers should therefore prepare for there being no facilities. This area is open to tent campers and motorhomes.

Balinoe Campsite (wild diamond) Isle of Tiree |
Tiree's only serviced campsite is situated in balinoe in the centre of the island. The site welcomes all campers, whether in tents, motorhomes or towed caravans, and has a variety of sized pitches with tent pitches in small screened areas. We also have galloping pods available to let. The campsite has standard toilet and shower facilities along with a well equipped camper's kitchen and free Wi-Fi access. Sheigra Wild Camping |
Camping at the small sandy bay is allowed. There are no facilities other than a water pipe near to Sheigra House.

From the 31st October 2011 no cars will be allowed on to the camping area to enable the machair to recover and hopefully thrive.( Cars will have to be left adjacent to the cemetery about 1/4 mile away). Tents should not be pitched between the burn and the Rating: 2.80 (15 votes)

The Garths |
Fetlar presently has no dedicated facilities for camping or caravanning, however we are working on plans to provide both.
Fetlar hall is currently looking at providing hook up points for Caravans and Motorhomes.
We are also looking at options for providing a campsite with access to shower and toilet facilities.

Isle of Eigg Wild Camping |
To comply with Scottish Outdoor Access Code, camping access rights are extending to wild camping provided camping is lightweight, done in small numbers and only for two or three nights in any one place. Avoid any problems arising for local people, especially farmers and crofters, by not camping in enclosed fields of crops or farm animals and by keeping well away from buildings, roads or historic structures. Oldshoremore Camping and Caravan |
The official site at Oldshoremore closed in 2002. This site continues to appear on maps and in Scottish tourist publications. Nearest alternative official sites at Durness and Scourie. We have recently been advised by some visitors to scottishcamping.com that there is a small camping area set between the public conveniences and the shore where wild camping is permitted at a small cost to the local crofter. You may wild camp with consent from the local crofter or the local responsible for the common grasing.
