About Us
ScottishCamping was established in 1999 to provide the most accessible, accurate and comprehensive directory of campsites and caravan parks in Scotland, for those planning camping holidays in Scotland. We believe that with around 500 sites listed we are the leading online guide for those who wish to camp in Scotland.
The organisers of the site have travelled and camped in Scotland regularly and have done so for many years and hope that the site will encourage others to access the Great Outdoors and experience the diversity of scenery in Scotland along with our world famous hospitality. Our intention is to produce a website detailing the entire list of official and many unofficial "rough" camp sites on Scotland. We hope that this will be of benefit to those involved in Outdoor Pursuits and/or holidaying throughout Scotland.
The site was devised to provide essential information. We believe that you should have access to full information about the campsites in Scotland and a realistic view of what to expect. The site is interactive in that we have made our own comments on sites and there is a facility for you also to make comments for the benefit of others wishing to go camping in Scotland.
We intend to continually update our database of campsites in Scotland throughout every season. We have provided Web and E-Mail access where possible, along with addresses and contact numbers and would recommend your contacting the campsites prior to arrival given our occasional experience of travelling many miles to find out that they do not accept groups, tents or dogs etc.
We list all the campsites in Scotland for free as we do not want to only have those that have subscribed to be part of our database. This ensures that we are the most comprehensive guide for camping in Scotland and campsites in Scotland.
If you have a favourite site let us know in order that others can benefit from your experience and so help with the promotion of Scottish Camping. This can be done by accessing the 'add a review' area on the site you want to comment on.
