This is a basic camping area right on the dunes of Traigh Uuige. Enter at the parking area for the beach. Run by the local crofting community. Only facilities are public conveniences and a water pipe. Strictly no towing or seasonal caravans. Community shop and seasonal community cafe within 1 mile. | Isle of Gigha Camping |
The campsite is small, with no vehicular access to the tent pitches and limited turning and maneuvering space for campervans and motorhomes. Our tent pitches are smaller than some campsites and we are unable to accommodate very large tents. We also have to limit motorhome length onsite to maximum 7m. Pitches 4-10 are particularly tight and we recommend maximum 6m vehicles for these spaces, with larger vehicles (up to 7m) better suited to pitches

Open to non members. This is a level and peaceful site on the edge of Melrose, (easy for shopping) and overlooked by the three hills which gave rise to its Roman name of Trimontium. Melrose is famous for two things: its ruined Abbey and for being the place where Rugby Sevens was invented in 1883, so if you're a fan, telphone the site for the date when the Border teams meet for their annual Melrose Sevens Rugby Tournament. All touring pitches are hard-standing, some set around the two pretty duck ponds, whilst others are adjacent to a wooded hill inhabited by red squirrel. | Rothiemurchus Estate Wild Camping |
Rothiemurchus estates have established two wild camping areas in order to encourage responsible wild camping. The first designated area is at Loch an Eilein next to the car park. Grid Ref NH 897 084. It has a basic toilet block which is open during the summer but may close at other times. Campers should therefore prepare for there being no facilities. This area is open to tent campers and motorhomes.
