Wild Camping On Harris and Lewis |
There are many great wild camping places on Harris and Lewis. The best pitches tend to be found on the west coast close to small sandy bays. Please treat all with respect and if parking close to homes ask for permission which is generally given. Some areas will not be suitable for dogs given livestock use common grazing. Oot Ower Lounge |
The Oot Ower lounge is a new build which opened in November 2001. It is a family run establishment comprising an easy atmosphere, with pleasant and helpful occupants. Situated on the east side of Whalsay at Livister, it overlooks the Huxter loch, where the remains of a Broch can be seen clearly. The Island is ideal for family walks, trout fishing or bird watching - weather permitting of course.
