The official site at Oldshoremore closed in 2002. This site continues to appear on maps and in Scottish tourist publications. Nearest alternative official sites at Durness and Scourie. We have recently been advised by some visitors to scottishcamping.com that there is a small camping area set between the public conveniences and the shore where wild camping is permitted at a small cost to the local crofter. Ardlui Holiday Home Park |
Set on the shore of Loch Lomond this 11 acre site has the Ardlui Hotel as part of the holiday park and own marina. At North end of Loch on A82 8 miles South of Crainlarich. Great hillwalks locally. Five tourer pitches for short stays, all with electric hook-up and water, no awnings allowed. Port Mor Centre Campsite |
The Campsite at Port Mor is available from the beginning of February until the end of Novemeber, the Campsite is closed through the months of December and January. We accept all tents, camper vans and caravans. We also have 10 electric hookups available at an extra cost of £3 per night. Oot Ower Lounge |
The Oot Ower lounge is a new build which opened in November 2001. It is a family run establishment comprising an easy atmosphere, with pleasant and helpful occupants. Situated on the east side of Whalsay at Livister, it overlooks the Huxter loch, where the remains of a Broch can be seen clearly. The Island is ideal for family walks, trout fishing or bird watching - weather permitting of course.

Isle of Barra |
There are now two official site on the Isle of Barra. We list both and you can access them via a search for Barra. You may wild camp with consent from the local crofter or the local responsible for the common grasing. Please see the weblink above and read the visitors reviews below which relate to camping near to the airport (now closed off due to erosion), on Vatersay and at Eoligarry. Isle of Eigg Wild Camping |
To comply with Scottish Outdoor Access Code, camping access rights are extending to wild camping provided camping is lightweight, done in small numbers and only for two or three nights in any one place. Avoid any problems arising for local people, especially farmers and crofters, by not camping in enclosed fields of crops or farm animals and by keeping well away from buildings, roads or historic structures. The Garths |
Fetlar presently has no dedicated facilities for camping or caravanning, however we are working on plans to provide both.
Fetlar hall is currently looking at providing hook up points for Caravans and Motorhomes.
We are also looking at options for providing a campsite with access to shower and toilet facilities.

Caldons Campsite CLOSED |
Caldons Campsite Permanently Closed. Forestry Commission Scotland will not be re-opening Caldons Campsite. There will therefore be no shop and facilities at Caldons (though wild camping will be allowed). The nearest shop and campsite is now at Glentrool Holiday Park at Bargrennan, tel 01671 840280.

Crunachy Caravan and Camping Site - CLOSED |
This site is now Loch Awe Holiday Park owned and run by Argyll holidays/Hoseasons which hires out static homes/cabins.Lying just off the A85 along side the service station and Spar shop. Rosehearty Caravan Park closed in 2013. The website entry reads "following the Council decision to transfer the operation of caravan parks, investigations into the possibilities of community group involvement and commercial operation for the management and operation of this park were unsuccessful, therefore Rosehearty is no longer operating as a caravan park".

Tolsta Chaolais Campsite CLOSED |
scottishcamping.com has had several reports 2011 of people being unable to locate this site and our recent attempts to contact the owner have been unsuccessful so we are unable to confirm this sites continuing existence. FOR INFORMATION: The scottishcamping map number 31 has also now been reallocated to a different site for the 2014 new map 3rd edition. Please let us know if you have visited recently and we will amend this entry.
