Cumberlands Campsite
Opened in 2009 and based at Fort Augustus, in the central Highlands of Scotland this is the perfect place to camp and stay whilst exploring the hidden side Glens and outstanding scenery of Loch Ness. Cumberland's Campsite covers approximately 12 acres of flat land, with a well mowed area for the pitching of tents. Catering for around 50 pitches, there is plenty of space for all, especially for children to play and run around in a safe environment. The new shower block provides 6 showers with plenty of hot water, plus 7 toilets. Cumberland's Campsite lies immediately adjacent to Stravaiger's Lodge Hostel and is accessed via the same entrance in a quiet location, just a minute or two off the main road through Fort Augustus. The campsite is within easy walking distance of the Caledonian Canal, along which a selection of shops, supermarkets, cafes and pubs can be found. The site is now fully operational with the new facility block, hook ups and hard standing for caravans and campers. Also for 2010 the site will add a laundry and campers kitchen. For 2011 it is planned to add a play area for the kids. Please see website/weblink above for up to date information.
