This is a family run caravan site and is situated nearby a farm, beside Loch Watten. It is a quiet and pleasant area with amazing views across the county side, both day and night. The site is located midway between Wick and Thurso, which are the two main towns in Caithness.

The Woods Caravan Club Site |
The view from the caravan window alone is worth the journey. The site is quiet and tranquil with almost a 180 degree panorama to the Ochil Hills, where in autumn the purple heather and golden bracken are brilliant. The nearby Gartmorn Dam country park and nature reserve offers a ranger service of guided walks and there is excellent fishing. Bogha Caol Ard (pronounced bo cool ard) campsite on the edge of Kilchoan has stunning views down the Sound of Mull. It is the only campsite at the western end of the Ardnamurchan Peninsular to have it own toilet and shower facilities. The facilities are in an original stone byre which has recently been renovated.

Caldons Campsite Permanently Closed. Forestry Commission Scotland will not be re-opening Caldons Campsite. There will therefore be no shop and facilities at Caldons (though wild camping will be allowed). The nearest shop and campsite is now at Glentrool Holiday Park at Bargrennan, tel 01671 840280.
