The Oot Ower lounge is a new build which opened in November 2001. It is a family run establishment comprising an easy atmosphere, with pleasant and helpful occupants. Situated on the east side of Whalsay at Livister, it overlooks the Huxter loch, where the remains of a Broch can be seen clearly.
