Campers have been welcome since the autumn of 2002 and the opening of the Speyside Way. A very peaceful site in grounds of a small hostel, can accommodate up to four two-man tents or their equivalent for a few nights. Campers have the use of a flush toilet and washbasin, hot water, washing up and bush shower, campfire area, picnic table and use of a wet weather shelter for cooking in if necessary. There is now an official site called Port A Bhaigh located on the owners' croft next to the bar accomodating both tents and motorhomes. The campsite can accommodate 42 caravan/motorhomes on level hard stands with 26 of them having electrical hook ups and ample space for 50 tents.

Rothiemurchus Estate Wild Camping |
Rothiemurchus estates have established two wild camping areas in order to encourage responsible wild camping. The first designated area is at Loch an Eilein next to the car park. Grid Ref NH 897 084. It has a basic toilet block which is open during the summer but may close at other times. Campers should therefore prepare for there being no facilities. This area is open to tent campers and motorhomes.
