We have been coming to stay at this site from Germany for many years and had so far, been very happy there. It is a very well located and accessible site. It is well organized and facilities are kept clean at all times. However, an unpleasant encounter with staff of the site made us feel very unwelcome, particularly as guests of the country. We left the campsite before the end of our holiday last time, in August 2005. Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend this camp site.

Site used to be run by Edinburgh City Council, now run by the Caravan Club of Great Britain. Security on the site is excellent, ditto tolet block, showers etc. Dog walks provided for dogs to do what dogs do! The site is very well laid out particularly for caravans and caravanettes.The area set aside for tents is good but small, and limited for use to small one man/ two man tents only. Sheltered area provided for tenters for food preparation, cooking and eating. Don't arrive late to book in, as site has key card (obtainable from reception) operated road barriers in and out, to restrict vehicular access . The site is on the outskirts of Edinburgh by the Forth so you may have a short walk to the nearest bus route to get into the City. Personaly I would take the bus rather than the car given Edinburgh's parking problems.
