Spent 2 nights here in early July 2014 before heading over to Barra - if you are going in that direction you have plenty of opportunity to contemplate your journey as the views from the site over the water are stunning. Facilities are very modern and spacious. There is a friendly pub about 20 mins walk down the road which has reputation for good food. We spent an afternoon cycling over to Eriksay which is very accessible - were hoping to see otters - note the sign on the causeway - but they were being very shy.

A superb location by the beach. Site is easily accessible by the main road (it is actually on the main road which is I guess a danger, but it isn't noisy as it's not a busy road in comparison). Co-op is about 5 miles back in the other direction (hilly roads for cyclists) but there is a house next door which sells fresh vegetables, and apparently a pub down the road (less than a mile). Very well laid out flat site, with central block for facilities. The showers are beautiful, everything is so clean and there is a kitchen with a kettle and washing machine (£3) and table. Picnic tables dotted around the site which is a luxury it seemed at the time! It felt like a community campsite with everyone so talkative and friendly. The guy owner was welcoming and talkative too, and open with advice. Just down the road from the causeway to Eriskay and a short drive to Lochboisdale (longer cycle though) so is well located. We paid £6pppn for a small backpacker tent/2 people - a great price for the facilities, location and welcome.
