Owners were very open in giving us weather/amenities/pitch information and advice. It was a wonderful £10 for 2 cyclists and a backpacker tent (£8 I believe if you're just 2 walkers though) so we stayed for 2 nights. It is just off the road past the East coast geological sites (Kilt Rock etc) towards Staffin village where there is a shop and 2 places to get meals/tea (one of which is an internet café). Site is generally sloping and busy for motorhomes/caravans/giant tents who take up a lot of room but fortunately we found a flat enough bit of soft soft grass to ourselves. Beach path from the campsite which is handy too. Toilet and shower block is clean (showers a little of the not-hot-enough but at least it's a shower). There's also a laundry room with ironing board (because that's what campers need) and a cute camper's bothy where you can eat (but not cook) which is great in wet weather. Was a mix of families and walkers, but a quiet campsite anyway.

Well looked after site and the staff are very accomodating and helpful. I stayed there for a week in 2009 and although the washing facilities were needing upgraded, which was in the process for the next season, it was adequate. The area is beautiful with lovely scenery all around. and the pitches are immaculate. The only downside was that we had to go to Portree, which is lovely, to get some gear we needed as the local shop didn't have what we were lokking for......oh!! and that week we had to cut short our stay as a hoolie blew up on the Friday and near enough everyone packed in apart from some smaller tents. Ours couldn't stand up to the wind.

stayed on site early august 2008. site good and the views spectacular, toilets and showers clean & tidy, laundry poor due to domestic washer and drier, commercial machines required.
