Stayed 7 nights at end of September 2013 and the weather was superb. The site was only about 70% full but even at full occupancy the tiered layout and widely spaced pitches would still make for peaceful camping and brilliant views. The whole site is maintained to a very high standard and the facilities block was absolutely immaculate - best we've encountered. Fresh eggs from the croft were quite something special and the fresh scallops and haddock from the van from Portree were about as good as fresh fish gets.
Sunsets over Loch Greshornish were spectacular and absence of light pollution made for great star gazing.
Vicky and David the wardens/owners were warm, welcoming and informative.
The drive up there after leaving the A9 at Dalwhinnie and passing through the glens between the Grampian and Monadhliath mountains has to be one of the most scenic routes in Scotland.
