Oban Camping and Caravan Club Site

Not to be confused with the Gallanachmore site Show more

Not to be confused with the Gallanachmore site just South of Oban, this one is 13 miles North. In a walled garden and with good hard-standing and hook-up pitches the Standard tent area is poorly turfed and gets waterlogged quickly if it rains. Very clean, spacious wash blocks and a nice quiet site too.

We preferred this campsite to the other one in Oban. Different levels for camping which makes it a bit more "intimate" and covered communal BBQ area available. We actually camped on the grass outside the gate. had loads of chaffinches sharing our meals...if we wern't fast enough in the morning, they were in our van!!!

Very good quite campsite a bit out of the way from Oban, however good walks from site. Kids play area outside the walled garden and not very big. Had a very good weekend here however make sure you take your midge replent.

Non members welcome on this site. Set in 5 acres of a walled garden providing shelter. Woodland walks nearby and located just off the A828.

Oban Camping and Caravan Club Site This was our third visit to the campsite and each time the view takes my breath away. This is a picturesque campsite with a pond, a pool room, freezer facilities and hot showers. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The kids spent every night playing up on a hill and made new friends. A 5 minute drive to Oban makes it an ideal location to explore the surrounding area. Oban Camping and Caravan Club Site Pleasant, quiet site located 13 miles from the town of Oban. The site is sheltered by the walls and well maintained - there was never any litter to be seen. Shower and toilet facilities were always clean and tidy, dishwashing outside, but it is covered, water was always hot in both showers and dishwashing areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. As the locals say "When it rains in Scotland it forgets to stop in Oban!" and the site does become waterlogged quickly. The rear of the site is harder ground, and strong pegs would be required to pitch up. A good location to visit both north and south of Oban. A pleasant and well maintained site. The site is very well maintained, the toilets & showers are kept in a very clean condition. Dish washing is outside but has cover. The site is very sheltered within the ex wall garden and there are some really nice walks in the surounding woods. However it was quite midgie around early evening & morning. The drainage of the site was generally good for tents but the ground it very hard. Heavy duty pegs required. A clean friendly site We've camped at this site twice this year (05). The facilities are very good and were immaculatly clean on both occasions. There's a small friendly bar which serves basic but reasonable food just outside the main gate. The only drawback we found was the ground itself. It was very hard work getting pitched and we needed extra strong pegs. All in all though we'll definitly go back.
