We stayed for 3 nights late June 2009.
We are a couple in our 50s.
The weather was brilliant for the whole stay. The sita was well equiped, with laundry ( which we did not use ) , potwashing & Electric hook up but a little cramped, the car park was occasionally over full with campers.
The cost was about £15 incl elec.
We had booked only about 5 days earlier, but got a concrete hardstand with excellent view over towards the airport & sea to the east. They were a long way off however.
The pitch took some manoevering to get on by hand because of limited space & a high kerb , but once on was good, although no large area to spread out, there was an adequate area to sit on the bank overlooking the tent area.
TV ok. Facilities fairly modern, but inadequate vents to showers.
Showers use tokens, but are free.
One of the 2 male showers blocked up, but was cleared the next morning.
Location :- A pleasant steady walk into Stornoway by the main road took about half an hour, mostly flatish or downhill. Taxi rank available for return.
I can recommend the Royal for drinks/ meals & also the Indian restaurant on the front. There is another fairly dear restaurant & a couple of takeaways chip shops. The site made a good base for the N, W, & E of Lewis.
We also stayed on Harris but that's another story.
