This is a superb quiet site - one of ther best we have stopped at in Scotland. The cedar huts are exceptionally well made, warm and dry, and the welcome from Tim and Lynn was also very warm and welcoming. The Bothy is a great added extra should the weather turn wet. Fantastic walk through the oak woodlands adjacent to the camp to Ariundle Centre for a superb evening meal. Five Stars all round!!

Went to this campsite for two days in May and Show more

Went to this campsite for two days in May and stayed for four - two in a tent, waking up to a concert of birdsong, then two in one of their super cedar cabins, designed and built by the owners, Lynn and Tim. The cabins have kettle, microwave and even underfloor heating (which I didn't need). A beautifully kept little site, and Lynn and Tim are very welcoming. The bothy is a great bonus, especially for campers, and children were happily taking advantage of the supply of games. An excellent base for touring the region. There is a great little cafe and shop in Strontian - stock includes midgie hoods, which you may need, depending on the season. The nearby Ariundle oakwoods are superb - I spotted one of the rare chequered skipper butterflies nearby. The Ariundle Centre offers home-cooked meals. Hope to go back sometime.

We have just spent 4 nights at this lovely Show more

We have just spent 4 nights at this lovely peaceful campsite, it has great facilities with a wash room with a washer,dryer & a fridge with a freezer compartment for anybody to use which we found very helpful when camping in a tent. There is a room (bothy) that anybody can use day or night for relaxing in with a brew or for just getting out of the rain if you are in a tent (we do have one confession to make though, when we got home we found a glass amongst our pots & pans belonging to the bothy room which we washed up after useing but it got put back with our things, we will bring it back next time!!) The owners Tim & Lynn are very friendly & helpful they are doing a great job with the campsite. There are some lovely walks around Strontian & lots of great places to visit further a field. We saw Buzzards flying above the campsite, sea eagle have been spotted near by & we saw seals on the islands of sunart loch. We are planning to stay again sometime this year at this campsite & hopefully next time stay in one of the wooden cabins which look great. There is a really good shop just around the corner & a lovely pub not far from the campsite. We are really looking forward to returning :-)
