This is a great site for families - if your looking for a quiet site then this one is not for you now it has got so popular.We would go back out of season for the peace and quiet but would think twice in season. Beautiful surroundings - red kites flying easily overhead throughout the day early morning mist coming off the loch simply breathtaking

Just had a lovely weekend with a group of friends we only get the chance to see once a year. 11 adults and 12 kids in all and they had no problem providing us with a lovely area for our 7 tents, overlooking the loch. Weather ws fab so the kids ( and adults) had a great time in the loch and on it in the kayaks. Very spacious site so even though busy there was loads of room. Views are lovely and you are virtually guaranteed to see kites. Staff great and very welcoming. We will be back next year.

First time camping since I was a child and Show more

First time camping since I was a child and wasn't sure what to expect. Stayed in August 2011 and had 2 days of glorious sunshine. My boys and loved it. The location and the view from the tent field is lovely. We positioned ourselves at the back of the field looking over the tent field and watched the coming and goings. The only down side is the road at the back which is generally not busy but can wake you up early. Staff friendly and following recommendations from them we made a trip to the C of Galloway and Carrick beach which was closeby which was an excellent day out. I always want to try other places but I know that I will be back to Loch Ken as we enjoyed it so much.
