Kilvrecht is what camping is all about - beautiful wild countryside, isolation, lovely campsite. It's cheap, has no electric hookups, but does have black and grey water dumping, fresh water and very clean basic and rustic toilet block. It even has 'midge eater' machines helping to keep the midges at bay, and we weren't too bothered by them once we lit our coils and splaced on the Skin So Soft. There are open spaces for kids and adults to play games or look at the stars, great hikes in the hills and forests, a lovely loop trail along the burn, birds and wildlife abound, great for wildflower spotting this time of year. The warden visits twice a day and is very helpful. The area is great for fishing, paddling in loch or burn, walking, canoeing, biking and there is plenty of history to be had around Loch Rannoch or just a little further afield. It ticked all of our buttons and we'll go back again.
