I have given mostly 5 stars for everything except for the price which at £30 a night for 2 adult+2 kids, we felt was a bit pricey and that included a discount for C&CC members. The only extra we had was electric hookup. The site is perfect in terms of location and facilities and the lady on the phone was very accommodating and polite when we called en route trying to escape the midges of Fort William. The toilet block nearest us had 4 showers and 3 private washbasins. There was also a decent laundry. The kids play area was excellent. We were allocated a spot at the 'new grass area' which was, according to the map of the site, for tents. A chap on a moped will guide you to the exact spot, for us fairly close to the only other caravan there and with a small tent just in front. On the plus side it had the best views on the site and a handy picnic bench practically outside the awning (it would have been in it had we had a full size awning). On the minus side, the guide then put two small tents very close to us. The family were pleasant and I can understand that they would want to use the picnic bench and would always defer to campers to do so but it meant that we could not sit outside our van or even in the awning without encroaching on their personal space - honestly, we had to step over their belongings to get into our awning and we usually like being in amongst the campers. This might sound petty but for a site that obviously prides itself on it's wide pitches, squeezing in caravans on tent areas really doesn't make anyone feel good. The tenting family would have preferred more privacy too. I'm sure we could have gone back and asked for a refund and moved on but we did want to stay and explore the area and their literature states that 'no refunds are given at any time'. I would say that it's probably more a caravan site than a camping one and despite the airy views, we did feel claustrophobic however we are a family who normally go for rougher sites if that helps readers better gauge this review. Grantown itself is a lovely town with some nice independent shops and a good co-op. There are lovely walks in the surrounding woods and I'd recommend the Revack Estate Tearoom for some fantastic lunches. The museum isn't particuarly great though. Kids are free but adults are £2.50 each for a short film, one room of storyboards and very few artifacts. Would say that the site is an excellent base for visiting this area but take a measuring tape if you want to ensure the 6 metre rule applies.

At first, I thought the cost was pricey but after I'd been here for a while I realised what good value for money the nightly cost was. I'm on a super-pitch which includes free satellite TV, free WiFi, water, drainage and a huge space. Dog and Awning also included. I'm not sure I like the rule that you cannot leave a dog in your 'van whilst you go to the town for a meal but as there are several places in town where you can eat and take your dog, so far its not been a problem. The staff are extremely helpful, the site is spotless and very well maintained, well laid out, plenty of space between pitches. I think it's the best site I've been to so far. I would recommend it highly.

A lovely site with, from our pitch, amazing views of the Cairngorms. Shared with statics, although did not feel overwelmed by them. Brand new-looking toilet block which is one of the best, really lovely. The 'old' one was really nice too. Free hot water, games room (basic), excellent play area for kids, wonderful walks adjacent from the site for dog walking, easy stroll into town (local food prices for meals out we thought were very high) and chip shop sold horrible chips ('fries' much better). Lovely traditional town and we needed a garage and the local family-run Ford dealer was extremely helpful to us (Rattreys, Woodend). We enjoyed our stay here very much, it was warm, quiet, very welcoming site. Was very windy one or two nights.
