A great site with very friendly and helpful owners and a large well kept camping field with electric on some pitches. There is a large very comfortable bar and restaurant, a shop, and an area serving basic takeaway meals. The village of Ecclefechan, where there are two small supermarkets, is just about 2 miles down the road. Annan is only about 5 miles away with a full range of shops, supermarkets, museum, cafés etc. The site has a large number of privately owned static caravans, but these are out of site screened by trees, therefore it tends to be busy at weekends but quiet during the week even in high season. There is also a decent dog walking area on-site. Overall this is probably the best site in the area for a quiet leisurely break with all facilities close at hand.

Great tenting area, tho can get busy during English school hol's when large tents can make elec' hook-up area seem a bit cramped. Huge site with loads of walks/trails for kids and bikes. Even when busy in August, seemed to be plenty of showers/toilets etc, to go round. Shop on site will bale you out for basics, but Annan only 5 mins away with everything you need. Queensferry hotel has great steaks( 2 for £15) Mon' to Thur'. Loads to to in this area if you have active kids; Quads, go-karts, paintball etc, and you should try out the dirt buggies at "Farm buggy trails", great fun for young and old alike. All in all a great place to stay and would certainly return.

what a fantastic camp site, having been to many Show more

what a fantastic camp site, having been to many sites aroud scotland this is the best by miles. the showers are spotless, we found all the staff very warm and friendly and the setting was stunning our tent looked over the castle and the kids loved the fact the loos, bar games room ect are all inside the castle. we will be going back as soon as we can. fantastic!
