We recently stayed at Barlochan, and the place hasn't changed much in the last 20yrs...
We used to go as kids and loved it then as much as we love it now!!
The touring pitches are well spaced out - not overlooking the next one along which is a bonus.
A very picturesque site, with the most friendly wardens we have met.
The kids loved joining in with the Easter Egg Hunt and the decorate and egg competitions run by Anne (warden), and running around the site in general. The park is more than adequate and if the weather is not so good there is a games room onsite. Unfortunately the outdoor pool doesn't open until the end of May ( although it was probably to cold anyway)...
Toilet facilities are really good - clean and tidy - and the showers are amazing!! The only downside is that there is no heating in the showerblocks, which was a shame.
The site shop has the basics but Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas are not too far away for anything else required.
I would recommend the site to anyone and are returning very soon!!
