Very nice and well-kept site surrounded by lovely upland and farmland landscape. Friendly manager. Village cafe and shop a few minutes walk from site. Sadly the hotel/pub is now up for residential development :(. A great area for walking or cycling. Thornhill town, within 2 miles, has hotels, cafes, take-aways and shops, inlcuding a very pleasant gallery cafe dwon one of the side roads. For those with cars, it is a short drive to Drumlanrig castle and similar and to local pretty towns like Moniaive. I recommemd this site.

A superb site, well managed, clean and very quiet. Beautifully situated just outside the village of Penpont, and well placed for discovering the beauties of Dumfries and Galloway. The shower and toilet facilities are modern and kept scrupulously clean and tidy. The village has a good pub, The Volunteer, which serves excellent meals at modest prices. There is also a well stocked village shop which is open from the crack of dawn to 5 in the afternoon. I have stayed a number of times, and the welcome has always been warm and friendly. The best and nicest site I have stayed on.
