Our View:	Can become very busy during peak season. Not a get away from it site! Close to Pitlochry for tourist attractions. Great outdoor pursuits locally.

Faskally Caravan Park we have been touring our van for 10 years,and go every where,but the scenery around fiskally always drags us back.the kids love it and if theyr happy wer happy.its getting a bit pricie now but we still go the dogs love the river walks and the swimming pool tiers out the kids all in all its great.the toilets are modern,clean,and plenty hot water,very stricked after midnight noise.not a bad thing but a wee bit too strickt.i hope you give it a go cos it realy is a class place to visit.hope to see you there cheers Type of accommodation: Caravan Date: 31/01/2011 Was this review helpful for you? 0 of 8 found this review to be helpful.

interesting weekend We spent 4 days here at the end of July/beginning of August. I anticipated the site would be busy and most tent pitches were taken. The first night was very rowdy thanks to someone with questionable musical taste and powerful loudspeakers. He was eventually removed in the early hours of the morning. The rest of our stay was peaceful and although the site full sign was up I did not find any queues for showers or dishwashing. the location of the site is beautiful. I had been apprehensive before going that I would find the site too noisy and crowded but apart from the first night there were no problems and I look forward to a return visit. Faskally Caravan Park first time for me and my family at faskally. found the site nice and clean and well maintained. only problem was the kids play area, when we arrived we where told the area around the play area was packed and would be better to pitch on the hill the right about 5 min walk from the play area so we could not let the kids just go off and play without us going with them. in my mind small play areas located around the site would be a benefit. apart from that site was superb and will be returning in the future but will try and pitch closer to the play park if possible. Faskally Caravan Park Stayed here for a long weekend in august, on arrival reception person was quite abrupt and harassed but may have been having a bad day (we all have those!) No map of the site which would have been helpful considering the size of the site. First impression was that the site is very busy, lots of kids hanging around which would maybe indicate the facilities for kids are not great. We were able to go past the busiest tent area to an area which was seperated from the rest be bushies, this was better as gave a feeling of being in a much smaller site. Ground for pegs wasn't too bad at all, went in fairly easily. Toilets were relatively clean but were always busy. Try and use the new toilet block showers, the old ones are like something out of a horror film, especially if your in there yourself! Great walk behind the site for walking dogs, river is a good 15-20 min walk away but it is a lovely walk. Shop, not too bad and well stocked. Was surprised that the site didn't offer take out meals (ie chips with nuggets/sausages and the like) but there are nice places in Pitlochry (nice chippy and chinese). Was noisy at night but not overly so, most people stuck to the 12 o clock curfew, those that didn't were quickly told to shut up but by other campers. All in all not a bad site, would prob go again but not the site for you if your looking for peace and tranquility. Site itself was a bit rough aroud the edges but not something a lick of paint or a wee bit money spent would sort. Faskally Caravan Park Enjoyed a few good nights there with the bike race in June, although i was not cycling. The park was very busy but as long as everyone keeps to the white slab rule there is plenty of space. Unfortunately someone tried to erect a trailer tent miles away from the slab 2m from my tent. I quick word at reception and they were moved to the caravan section. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The showers and sinks were clean, warm and well maintained. The laundry was overpriced. Remember to take all your consumables. The added bonus was the pool which was the perfect place to escape the insects for a night! Faskally Caravan Park just back from holiday at faskslly we were their during the week campsite was not to busy enough space for everyone although you could hear everybodys bodily functions at night (if you know what i mean) the campsite emptied on friday morning getting rid of the noisey ones that kept us up until the back of three in the morning (so much for the curfue) .by friday night it was a sea of tents very busy but very quite (possibly because of the heavy rain). but on the whole the campers were friendly and the kids loved it made many friends .would return again but not at the weekend! would recommend it during the week! Faskally Caravan Park Visited this site last week for the first time in about 4 years. Used to go there with friends mostly in tents but one caravan. You used to be able to pitch one small tent beside a caravan pitch but not any more. We asked to pitch a small tent beside our campervan but were told this was not possible and we were strichtly forbidden to pitch the van in the tent area. The memeber of staff was very snippy when I asked about this. Other people had the same problem with trying to pitch a tent for their kids beside their van. Other than that facilities were good and plenty of space allowed around the pitches even although the site was busy. Thankfully there was no noise in the night as I think they are more insistent on this than in the past. Faskally Caravan Park I have been going here since I was young and went again last year with a number of my friends. The staff were extremely civil, considering we did stay out around the BBQ until midnight, at which point we were politely asked to take it into the tent. The location, that is to say next to the river, is extremely picturesque and fun for photography, swimming, fishing and many other activities. The onsite facilities are extremely well cared for and clean, and the drinks at the bar are fairly priced. To say the least I'm going again this summer. Faskally Caravan Park Site claims to be "sloping", certain pitches however require abseiling equipment! To get a van over 20 foot levelled would be almost impossible due to the severity of the slope on the upper field. my van is 18 foot and the rear end was virtually on the ground with concrete blocks under the front legs to try and get it level!! As for putting the awning up on such a slope, well that's another story! Very noisy later at night from the local idiots racing along the road which we were backed onto, not to mention the main railway line north. A long haul to the chemical waste area as well. Staff friendly but not very helpful after one of our party lost power due to plinth failure and no other plinth available. This site needs work to bring it up to standard - more chemical waste disposal areas and some electrical maintenance would feature high in my opinion. Other than that, a good friendly place with no drunken idiots causing chaos at night, but if we were going to the same area again we'd go back to Tummel Bridge park where the pitches are at least level. had great time we were here last summer with 2 young children. we all had a fantastic time. the people were all great and we had no problems at all with noise etc at night times. the facilities were fantastic, spotless toilet and shower facilities. the kids had fun at the park and enjoyed running about having fun with the other children on site.i will be reurning here later this year and have reccomended it to everyone!! we were advised to come here from family and friends and have never heard of any problems from any of them Type of accommodation: Unknown Date: 13/02/2006 Was this review helpful for you? 6 of 17 found this review to be helpful.

had a ball my husband myself and our 8 year old son &dog went to faskally for a long weekend and we had a good time despite some of the negative reviews 'we found the electric hook ups for the tent pitches were ideal as it made our camping more comfortable .the site was a bit busy but still managed to use all the facilites no problem shower blocks were clean hot ' had a nice meal in the resturaunt entertainment was good but a bit busy hard to get a table go early to avoid this .great walks down the river and fishing ,easy access to pitlochry 5mins by car . no real disturbances after 12 apart from people going to the loo . staff very helpfull .the pool was nice and clean as with the sauna steam room &spa i would recommend booking in advance at least a month during summer as it is a busy site overall we had a lovely weekend and will be going back next season Type of accommodation: Unknown Date: 30/08/2005 Was this review helpful for you? 7 of 15 found this review to be helpful.
